Just what IS a four octave range?  

Glad you asked!  Try this next time you're so bored even the

prospect of shaving your head with a cheese grater sounds

appealing:

1. Sing the lowest note you can muster

2. Starting at that note, put on your ruby slippers and sing

"Somewhere, over the rainbow.....".

3. From "Some..." to "...bow" is an octave!  

4. Starting at the note you ended on, repeat step 2 until you turn crimson
